Easter Basket
Tuesday, April 8th 6:30 - 8:00pm
A great centerpiece or gift. Plant with pansies, lettuce or herbs. We’ll provide a selection of basket styles from which you may choose the perfect one for a springtime centerpiece. Select your favorite pansy from the cheerful and colorful assortment. We will guide you as you plant a one-of-a-kind Easter basket. Pansies are the ideal annual for welcoming spring!

Living Wreath/ Floral Globe
Thursday April 10th 1:30 - 3:00pm
This is the year to learn how to plant pansies or viola into a durable, two-piece frame for a lush, long lasting display! If you already have a frame (but have not planted for awhile), bring it, plant it, and we’ll adjust your class cost. These are reusable frames and we will share some of our favorite ideas for their year round, multi-seasonal use.

Hypertufa Leaf Casting

What an amazing way to preserve nature with this leaf casting water basin! This creation is a great conversation piece for your garden! Guaranteed to please your feathered friends! Living Wall Class

Living walls open up a whole new world of vertical gardening and beautify bare walls. We will show you the newest system and how to plant and care for your planting in order to achieve lasting success.

Small is the new black. Let’s explore the world of urban, small space gardening. Join Carol Watson as she discusses design and techniques that will enhance your indoor and outdoor living space in all four seasons. Learn about and plant your own shrubs, trees, vines, perennials, annuals and vegetables that will thrive in small areas. Choose from an array of vertical gardening options as well as unique containers. No class cost, participants will have the option to plant their own containers, materials priced as marked. Herbaceous plants are priced between
$3 and $7; miniatures and hardscaping as priced.

These most unusual pots were designed and invented in Australia. We will plant them with a choice of begonia, mini-fuschia or pansy. We will be planting in an 8x6” pot

Using a 14” moss lined hanging basket, we will plant cascading annual (a variety of choices) so you will have an early start for the season.

Here is your opportunity to create a new use for something laying around the house, whether it is an old bucket, tea kettle or even a meaningful object that you just can’t figure out what to do with. Carol will walk you through the steps of making almost anything into a beautiful planter. Bring something in from home or pick it out at the greenhouse. Prices will vary vary according to plants chosen as well as soil and drainage needed.

Hypertufa Basket Planter**
Saturday, May 3rd 11:00am - 12:00pm
This planter will showcase violas or your choice of annuals in a springy container.  What a great project that depicts a weathered antique!  This planter will be a great accent to your garden or entryway.  Please bring rubber gloves, embellishments that you may want to incorporate in your finished piece and protective clothing.

Container Gardening with Claire Watson

Container gardening at it’s best! Claire will introduce you to what’s new and what’s tried and true and share her tips and new ideas for planning, planting and caring for custom container gardens. Veggie Container Gardening with Claire Watson

Hypertufa Bowl Planter (cobble base)**

Kitchen Herb Garden

Create your very own, customized herb garden. The herbs that you like to use for cooking can be available all season long, fresh and just outside your kitchen. Carol will help you to choose herbs that will grow well together and you will be able to plant and learn to care for them to keep them producing. Many herbs available.

Father’s Day Mini-Bird Feeder**

Your father will love this unique miniature bird feeder!  This creation will be a great addition to his garden!  Come with your ideas and embellishments (shells, marbles, glass beads, etc) and protective clothing.

Succulent Potscapes
Thursday, June 12th 1:30 - 3:00pm
Create a succulent garden for your patio at the greenhouse. These gardens are great for outdoor interest all season long and are then brought inside for the winter. Choose from a variety of different succulents add texture and color to your plantscape. Prices will vary according to plants and containers chosen. Prices include $7.50 class registration. Carol Watson Greenhouse Presents: A Summer Soirée to Benefit Symphoria
Thursday, June 26th 6:00 - 9:00pm
The Summer Soirée is a unique fundraiser held for the second time this year at Carol Watson Greenhouse, located in Lafayette NY. The event will be held on June 26th starting at 6pm. Symphoria will be performing with a 5-Piece Brass Ensemble from 8 - 9pm. A silent art auction will be held in the greenhouse. All proceeds from the auction as well as a percentage of food and beverage sales will be donated directly to Symphoria in order to help them continue their mission of providing Central New York with the highest level of artistic performance as our community orchestra. Carol Watson Greenhouse will also donate 10% of any retail sales made during the event to Symphoria.

Japanese Mini-Gardening Techniques Seminar
Tuesday, July 8th 6:30 - 8:00pm
Brian will discuss various Japanese traditions in gardening, including kokedama, moss balls, indoor rock gardens and miniature zen gardens. Garden Makeover Seminar
Thursday,  July 17th 6:30 - 8:00pm
Are you getting tired of how your garden looks? Do you want to give it a partial or complete makeover? Carol Watson will talk about ways to do just that. Bring in pictures (in digital or printed form) and Carol will discuss ways that you can renew, refresh and re-invigorate your garden. There will be an opportunity to look at different varieties of new, long blooming perennials, annuals, shrubs and trees that can be incorporated into your gardening landscape.
